Born in 1918 in Jiangsu province; grew up in Nanjing. Was well known actress in Chinese film industry in the 30's and 40's. Moved to Hong Kong in 1948. Studied with Chao Shao-an, Wong Po-yeh, and Lui Shou-kwan in the 1960s and a renowned female artist in Hong Kong. Moved to San Francisco in 1974.
