More InformationLate Qing falang-cai porcelains, when compared to the extravagant style of the Qianlong period wares, were much simplified in ornament and color. This bowl presents three rounded panels alternating with flower sprays on a lemon yellow ground. Three traditional flowerspeony, lotus, and chrysanthemum blossomsare depicted on the respective panels in opaque shades of pink and green outlined by black and brown. Between these panels, other peonies, lotuses, and peach-blossoms are depicted in bright polychrome.
