More InformationWanli wares alternated between those with a yellow ground with the motif in green (ZGM Quanji 1988 vol. 3: pl. 126) and those with a green ground with the motif in yellow. On this piece, the decoration was incised on the body and fired, then the vessel was covered with green glaze and colored with yellow pigment over the incised ornamentation. Then it was fired again at a low temperature. A dragon and a phoenix among floral bushes are paired on the body. Conventional lotus panels encircle the shoulder and lower area.
