More Information
In the cold months of the year, tea practitioners often select taller, more narrow tea bowls to retain the heat of the tea as their guests drink. This tea bowl was made by Nara-based ceramic artist Tsujimura Shiro. He is a well-known producer of tea wares who specializes in rustic-style utensils such as the tea bowl and freshwater container displayed here.
