More InformationThe decorative scheme of both the color and composition of this piece reveal a change in style from the early Qing period. The line work is thicker, the colors are heavier with much dark purple, and the motif is densely arranged. The crowded ornamentation reflects the overly-elaborate tastes of the court during this period. A pair of phoenixes flying amid flowers appears on the interior bottom, while four more are placed on the exterior.
