Ritual object (zun) in the shape of a goose

This goose-shaped vessel from the nineteenth century copies bronze ritual vessels likely used for ancestor worship and as altar pieces in ancient China. The corroded appearance is false patina made of glued pigments meant to imitate long-term burial corrosion found on ancient bronze objects.
