More Information
This is the third of three views of the Lafayette camp, which unlike the others was neither dated nor inscribed with the series title. This version shows a well-established site with cookstove fires and laundry drying under a gray sky—perhaps San Francisco’s notorious fog. A rare photo of Japanese residents of the Lafayette camp appeared in the local Japanese-language newspaper, Nichibei Shinbun, on May 12.
