More InformationYagi Kazuo created works that straddled the line between functional and sculptural ceramics. In many of his pieces, he included a hole or mouth, although the shape resists designation as a bowl, vase, or cup. The irregularly stamped Latin alphabet decoration— a jumble of letters that don’t come together as words—and an overlay of white slip here is typical of his decoration.
