This painting of Stonehenge was completed long after Fang Zhaoling had returned to Hong Kong. The simple abstract forms of Stonehenge allowed her to fully exploit her expressive and dynamic brush and ink style. As with the act of painting lotuses, this creative freedom served as a form of therapy for her, something she made abundantly clear in her inscription.
