Artist's Biography Guan Si (active 1573–1630) was a native of Wuxing, Zhejiang province. He became a well-known painter during the reign of the Wanli emperor (1573–1620). Traditional sources claim that his landscapes captured the spirit of masters of the Song dynasty (960–1279), and that his copies of works by certain masters of the Yuan dynasty (1279–1368) were excellent.
