On View
Not on viewShri Nathji is a distinctive form of Krishna as a seven-year-old child, venerated by the Pushtimarg sect with a pilgrimage center in Nathdwara, near Udaipur. Devotional rituals to Shri Nathji are ordinary daily and seasonal activities, and here the deity sits on a throne with o!erings of food (betel nut and sacred Yamuna River water) and entertainment (a pachisi game board) before him. Shri Nathji is depicted again in the background, holding up Mount Govardhana to shield his devotees from destructive rainstorms.
