Molded plaque (tsha tsha)

Tsha-tsha are produced by pressing clay into metal molds. They may contain human ashes or bits of grain such as barley. Making tsha tsha is a way to accrue merit. Pilgrims use them as offering at shrines, buy them as souvenirs, and sometimes put them in their amulet boxes for protection. They depict theypeaceful as well as wrathful deities of Tibetan Buddhism.
