More InformationIn the early 1900s, ancient skewertype pins (tingkhep) were used for securing a Bhutanese woman’s garment (kira) at the shoulders. The ring at the top is decorated with makara (mythical crocodile) heads and finely engraved designs. The pin, ornamented with turquoise, has a spiraling shaft elegantly engraved in the middle section, and it tapers to a sharp point.
